Wedding Hairstyles Down

 

As the bride, the next most important thing to choose after your wedding dress is your wedding hairstyle. All the attention is going to be focused on you - and rightly so. Everything needs to be perfect, from your hair down to your toes. No pressure.

Most brides skim through pictures of updos, while most don't give wearing their hair down a second thought. No where does it say that you have to wear your hair up on your wedding day. In fact, most women don't think they can actually pull off the look. Show your confidence in your beautiful hair and go for the daring look of a down-do.

If you are trying to decide whether or not to have your hair up or down, consider the type of dress you have. Wearing your hair down is ideal especially if you have a strapless dress. This is because it is not competing with the material on your back. Also consider the style of your veil, if you choose to wear one, and if it will stay in your hair if you leave it down. It also looks better to have a long veil if you choose to wear your hair down on your wedding day.

If you have let your hair grow out for your wedding, wearing your hair down is a great way to show off your beautiful flowing locks. Unmaintained curls and weak-holding hairspray can make this look more difficult to pull off. You can try sleeping with some curlers in your hair the night before to make sure your curls last throughout the day.

When trying out some styles, try parting your hair deep on the side and if you need to, you can use a bobby pin to hold the hair in place. If you have a few pieces of hair falling in your face, you can use a cute clip to pull them back out of your face. This way your are not constantly messing with your hair and your hair is still in its place. This will especially be cute if you have side bangs swept to the side of your face. Your earrings should be kept small and simple if you are wearing your hair down on your wedding day. This is because your hair is already bodiful and drawing attention to your face. You don't need another large accessory hanging from your face. Stick with some small diamond or pearl earrings instead of dangling earrings.

As with any hairstyle on your wedding day, it will require some upkeep. Having your hair styled down is no exception. As with any other style you may choose for your wedding day, schedule a run through with your hairstylist. Have them style it exactly how you would on your wedding day. Keep in mind whether or not you will be using a veil and bring it with you to the trial run of your hair do. This will help you will placement of it the day of your wedding so you both aren't left clueless.

To maintain your look throughout the day, you can ask your stylist what products you can use and what techniques you can apply. If it is a hot humid day, stylists recommend fewer products. Of course on your wedding day, your hair is going to have a lot of hairspray, so we recommend water-free hairspray. You can also invite your hair stylist to the wedding. This way she can apply touch ups here and there throughout the day so your hair stays fresh looking and as beautiful as when you first stepped out of the salon. She can be paid in free food and drinks at the reception. 

We also recommend doing your pictures directly after the wedding. This way your hair has not been through several line dances. Your pictures will show how beautiful your hair looked during your wedding day. You always have the option of pulling your hair up at the reception as well. This will impress your guests with two different hairstyles for your wedding day - one for the wedding and one for the reception.
