Outdoor Fire Pits have been in existence for a very long time and they remain a very popular item in home yards because of their versatility. Fire pits can vary from a pit that is dug into the ground to an elaborate gas burning compilation of stone, brick, and metal.  The most common feature of fire pits is that they are designed to contain a fire and prevent in from spreading out beyond the pit.

Types of Fire Pits

Pre Made Fire Pits- These are the most common form of fire pits used today and they can be purchased from a variety of outdoor and home stores. These pits are portable and are mostly made of metal burning either wood or gas.

Assembled Fire Pits- Assembled fire pits are different than pre made fire pits because they are built according to an individuals wishes, and they accomplish a wider variety of styles and functions. Stone and concrete fire pits are very heavy and are essentially locked into wherever they are placed. Fire pits are easy to make by just digging a suitable hole to contain a fire in the ground, or as complex and hollowing out a brick or a rock pillar.
